MY GARDENING PASSION

When we joined the Quebec Small Garden Association our garden was located in the West Island of Montreal. Started in 1994, it was ten years later, a very nice garden with thousands of nice plants and visited by hundreds of people.

My passion for hostas, daylilies, irises and all the other perennials brought us much further than we ever expected. The Publishing Company, Les Éditions de l'Homme, asked me to write the very first book ever written in French on Hostas. The book was published in March 2003 (It was a Best Seller). Then I wrote a second book on Daylilies (always in French). Also published in March 2005, it will be followed in 2007, by another book on Irises. This Gardening Passion brought me much further : I am now hosting a Gardening Radio Show 'Ask the clown' (in French) every Saturday mornings from 8h to 9h am on AM or on Internet http: //www.boomer1570.ca.

Our garden got too small. So we bought in 2005 a property located in St. Ambroise near Joliette, Quebec, Canada. A piece of land seven times larger with half of it planted with matured trees. A big change : first, we are located in zone 4b instead of 5b; no flower beds made, just a place to create. So we moved most plants we had in Roxboro.

After one year, 45 flower beds were created, a pond with cascade was built, the tree planted area was cleaned, more trees were planted. Many garden ornaments are there to please the visitors during their garden tours. We met our targets.

Today, in our garden there are near 500 hostas, more than two hundred daylilies, almost one hundred irises, along with hundreds of perennials. In Spring, almost 5000 bulbs are in full bloom.

Thanks to my three books and to the thousands of pictures I took: I have created a website where you can see those pictures (http://www.millettephotomedia.com).

And now I am attacking a fourth book.

The name of my garden is The Clown Gardener Garden
